In the end, there was a 79:93 defeat against the Oberliga team of BSG Kisdorf Kaltenkirchen. Coach Götz Petersen was nevertheless satisfied with the performance of the 1st basketball men of TSV Westerland: “Our opponent plays three classes above us in the league. That’s a huge difference.”
In the end, there was a lack of experience
Petersen attests to his team’s great potential, which they were able to show, especially in the first half. At times, the Bezirksliga club was even in the lead with twelve points. “We were able to keep up the pressure during that phase. In the end, however, the physicality deteriorated and then we also lacked the experience against such experienced players,” the coach summed up.
Four home games left
“Nevertheless, it was a nice event for everyone involved, also because there was a great atmosphere in the hall with 120 spectators,” Petersen continued. “I hope that the response to the remaining league games will be similarly good.” If you would like to support the team, you still have the opportunity to do so on the following dates (all games take place on Saturdays in the sports hall at the community school and start at 2 pm): April 23 against Preetz, April 30 against Kieler Turnerbund III, May 7 against Kieler Turnerbund IV. No date has yet been set for the catch-up game against the leader from Kronshagen.
